Rabbi Soloveitchik used to hold an annual marathon day-long session in Boston on Tishah B'Av, on which he would expound upon the themes and liturgy of the day. There are now two books available that provide a digest of his comments over the course of many years.

and KTAV.
It has been a while since I last sent out an email to the list. It has been a busy time for me and my wife. I'm happy to report that two months ago, we had a baby boy, our first! Aminadav Shalom was born on Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day). He has brought us much joy, but we've also become quite acquainted with the exhaustion that is so familiar to all parents.
Since I last wrote, a few successful screenings have taken place:
-
On April 25th (11th of Iyar), the film screened as part of the Martin London Lifelong Learning Lecture Series at the
Kashenberg-Ostrow-Hayward Library and Cultural Center in Sacramento, CA.
- On April 27th (14th night of Iyar), there was a community-wide screening at B'nai David Judea Congregation in Los Angeles, in commemoration of the Rav's 17th yahrzeit.
-
On July 12th (1st of Av), there was a screening at the annual conference of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS), which took place this year in Los Angeles.
I was in attendance at all three screenings.
As you hopefully know by now, the home video version of Lonely Man of Faith is available for purchase on the Lonely Man of Faith website, and has been shipping for a few months now. The DVD continues to sell, although I have yet to work out distribution to Jewish bookstores in North America and beyond.
Regular shipping free of charge.
Again, note that as of now, the DVD is only available in NTSC format. If you live in Israel or Europe, you are probably best off waiting until a PAL version is available locally, to save on shipping charges and ensure that it will play on your machine. (However, if your player and TV can display NTSC and you either can have it brought to you or don't mind the shipping charges, then you are welcome to order the disc. There are no zone restrictions on it).
May you have a meaningful fast and may our people know of no more sorrow,
